Pick up from your hotel or residence, drive to Machaerus, the hilltop stronghold of Herod the Great, King of Judea. His son Herod Antipas inherited the fortress. He ordered here the beheading of John the Baptist after Salome's fateful dance. To reach the top of the hill you have to walk 30 minutes. Continue to Madaba to view the map of the Holy Land in the St George’s Church. Short ride to Mt. Nebo, the place where Prophet Moses gazed at the Promised Land before he died. You visit the old monastery and overlook the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and parts of the Holy Land. Short drive to the Dead Sea Panoramic Complex where you enjoy spectacular views over the Dead Sea. You have free time here to visit the Dead Sea Museum informing about the geology, ecology, archaeology and conservation of the Dead Sea area. And you can do an easy walk (self-guided round trip of 1.4 km) exploring the Zara Cliffs with its breathtaking views and biodiversity. End your day at the Dead Sea Beach, the lowest point on earth. You have free time to make the unique floating experience on the salty waters. Return transfer to your Amman hotel or residence.
