Day 1: Amman Airport – Amman Hotel

Day 2: Amman Hotel – Amman City Tour – Jerash - Amman Hotel (B)

Start the day with a city tour in Jordan's capital. Amman, already mentioned in the Bible as Rabbath Ammon, is a bustling modern city. The historical places are located in downtown, where we visit the Citadel with remains from the Roman to the early Islamic period. Then we have a round in the Archaeological Museum. We stroll via the Souq, where you get an idea of everyday life, to the Roman Theatre from 2nd century with 6000 seats. We leave to Jerash, the best example of a Roman provincial city in the whole Middle East. Visit the spectacular forum, Roman colonnaded street, the Nymphaeum and the Temple of Artemis. Overnight Amman hotel.

Day 3: Amman Hotel - Madaba - Mt. Nebo - Dead Sea - Dana View - Shobak Castle - Petra Hotel (B)

Check out from the hotel and drive to Madaba, to view the famous mosaic 6th century map of Palestine in St. George's church. Short ride to Mt. Nebo. This is the place where Moses gazed at the Promised Land before he died and believed to be his burial place. You visit the old monastery, overlook the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and parts of the Holy Land. At Dead Sea Beach, the lowest point on earth, you have leisure time at the beach and the chance to float on salty waters (showers and lockers available). Driving towards Petra we enjoy the view of Dana Reserve and visit in Shobak the Crusader castle built by King Baldwin I. of Jerusalem. Overnight Petra hotel.

Day 4: Petra Visit – Amman Hotel (B)

After breakfast visit the rock city Petra, Jordan's main attraction and an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Petra was established around the 6th century B.C. by the Nabataean Arabs, a nomadic tribe settling in the area. With a sophisticated water supply and distribution system the city could prosper and the Nabateans founded a commercial empire that extended into Syria and controlled the main caravan routes at that time. Meet your private guide at the Visitor Centre and start the tour on horse back or on foot to the Siq, the narrow canyon with some votive niches. At the end of this gorge you will see the most beautiful monument of Petra, the Treasury, also known as Al Khazneh. Continue along the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs and Pharaoh's Castle. Free time on your own, in the afternoon transfer to Amman, check in and overnight.

Day 5: Amman Hotel - Allenby Bridge - Jerusalem Old City – Jerusalem Hotel (B)

07:00 pick up and transfer to Allenby Bridge to cross from Jordan to Israel. A shuttle bus connects both terminals. We drive to Jerusalem. We start with an introduction to the city from the top of The Mount of Olives, and then walk down to the Garden of Gethsemane. We also visit the "Wailing Wall", the last remnants of the Temple in Jerusalem. If the current situation allows it, we will try to visit the Temple Mount as well. We continue in the footsteps of Jesus along the Stations of the Via Dolorosa, Jesus' "Way of Suffering", and unto the Church of the Holy Sepulcure, where Jesus was crucified and buried. The Via Dolorosa also passes through the Old City's oriental "Suq" (Bazaar). At the end of the day we visit King David's Tomb and the "Room of the Last Supper", the Ceanaculum. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 6: Jerusalem Hotel - Bethlehem - Ein Karem – Jerusalem Hotel (B)

We travel to Bethlehem, where we first visit the ancient Church of the Nativity, where we can really touch the very place where Jesus was born. Built by St. Helena already in the 4th century, it has been an active church and never destroyed ever since! Here St. Hieronymus wrote the first Latin translation of the Bible – the "Volgata". We shall also visit the "Milk Grotto" and the "Shepherds Fields". Please note that the tour to Bethlehem can be cancelled without prior notice due to security circumstances. Returning to Jerusalem we drive to the picturesque village Ein Karim, the place where John the Baptist was born. We will visit the "St. John in the Mountains" church, built on the place where the house of St. John was standing. We will also visit the Church of Visitation, where St. Mary visited Elisabeth out in the vineyard, and prophesized her the birth of St. John. Overnight in Jerusalem.
